Parliament’s Order Paper for Swearing-In today.

New SA President will be elected at 2pm in Parliament.

The new President of the country will be sworn in at 2pm today. This follow the resignation of the Former President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday night. 

The Constitution says “the Deputy President automatically becomes the Acting President as soon as there is a vacancy in the office of the President”. Cyril Ramaphosa is now the Acting President of Republic of South Africa. 

Government Communication and Information system has detailed the procedure to follow electing a new President for Republic Of South Africa in Parliament this afternoon.
