“Talent in grave yards is as useless as knowledge without action” – Sam Agunbiade
For many years I have wondered why people know more than they act. A majority of people I have come across in this little time I have spent on earth will not stop amusing me. Is it not funny how people keep seeking advice when faced with a challenging situation without adhering to the simplest of them? “Things are easier said than done” is a quote that has been around for ages yet its validity cannot be overemphasized.
Nearly every Nigerian understands the illness of our nation, at every street junction, we hear solutions proffer by persons of different ages; yet, when it is time to take a decision that will bring about the solution we all await, men tend to sell their conscience and go for what will only satisfy their immediate need. They forget that; the entire nation and posterity is in danger if such a problem persists but, what do we do? We do the wrong thing despite knowing what is right!
Stop nodding; let us talk about you – yes! YOU; how many things are you aware of that would transform you from your present position yet you’ve not had adequate time to explore? Indeed, there is a wide gap between knowing and doing.
How many times have you found yourself in a situation, where what you are passionate about when you heard of it ended up in your jotting pad without a corresponding action?
Nearly every one of us can relate to this reality. You know more than you do while some talk about it but never had time to do it. For every idea communicated to you, for every idea conceived, for every book you read, for every encounter you have; there’s a knowledge added to you, there is something specific you’ve learnt but the big question is; how many of those things are eventually transformed into a corresponding action?
“Knowledge is Power while doing is AUTHORITY” – Sam Agunbiade
You have the power to do anything you want to do once you receive adequate knowledge about it. But, it will be difficult to become an authority in such field if you fail to take actions that are corresponding to the knowledge you acquired. I have come to realize that; men are thrilled by new knowledge but respected for inventions. Share your knowledge people will clap, do what you shared and lives will be transformed.
I challenge you today to start acting out every positive knowledge you possess.
