Text: 1 Corinthians  14:26  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

Today is another opportunity for believers to gather In our various place of meeting. We must be sure that our gathering fulfills its purpose, our gathering is unto the Lord and we must take advantage of today to get ourselves edified.

Believers’ meeting is purely a Spiritual gathering, therefore everything we do must be Spiritual. It is not a party arena hence, jamboree and all of the efizzy must be place under check.

It is not a gathering of business mogul nor gathering of people that need to be motivated,  NO!!! Therefore, our (Ministers) message and the expectations of the members must not be on anything to feed the flesh, it’s not a business seminar neither is it an avenue to motivate men. It is purely the gathering of men born of the word and the Spirit; hence, it must be purely Spiritual

1 Peter  1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Believers gathering has its purpose and we must pay rapt attention to ensure that we fulfill this purpose. The ministry gifts over the Church are placed to see that we are perfected and built up;

Ephesians  4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Our gathering is purely for edification nothing more, nothing less. A Church gathering that’s short of this reality, is going against the purpose of our gathering, therefore we must place it under check. We are in Church to be taught the word of God not philosophy of men, we are in Church to receive minister to others and be ministered to, therefore, we must be ready to receive the same.

1 Corinthians  14:26  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

All of us have something that can edify our fellow believers, we are expected to use our giftings to build others up. The manifestation of the Spirit is given for the benefit of others around us. Therefore, we are expected to make our gathering worthwhile.

Beloved, ask yourself this morning, why am I in the Church I attend? Is it because of the cool ambience? the gorgeous edifice? The nice sound system? One in a million musical instrument? Nice voice from the choir? Handsome Pastor? Or nearness to your home? If your reason for being in that Church is anything to satisfy your physical desire irrespective of what Is preached from the pulpit, you need a renewal of MIND.

The Church is a place to learn the word, the true knowledge of the word of God. The Church is purely word and Spirit, where we’ll be taught and we’ll be built up. It’s purely a place for edification of SAINTS!!! This must be our message and therefore the expectations of the members. It must be Christ Alone. Our focus must be on Christ alone.

The Church is a training ground, therefore, REMEMBER to go with your Bible, jotting materials and prepare to meet one of the need of the Church today, make sure you give and don’t forget the Children unit that needs attention. What about blessing the Pastor with your material wealth. Pick Someone along your route to Church as you go today and make sure you stay focused, don’t be distracted and don’t cause distraction with your phone.
